I posted the last of my roadtrip pictures on the roadtrip page – new ones include photos from Portland, the Bay Area, and Crater Lake.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but it looks like I’ve found an apartment in Seattle (the first place I found fell through when they discovered I wasn’t yet employed). It’ll definitely be nice to have an apartment again!

On my way down to California, I stopped in Portland where, among other things, I visited Kagen’s studio. He makes some awfully impressive wooden puzzle boxes – check ’em out.

After a stop at Crater Lake on the way up, I’m back in Seattle, looking for a job and an apartment. Unfortunately, those who manage the latter seem to want you to have the former, and the former take long enough to find, you need the latter. A bit of a catch-22, eh? I suspect registering my car in Washington won’t be a field day, either.

I still don’t remember about the weather here in the Bay Area – I headed up to San Francisco from Palo Alto this afternoon and didn’t think about outerwear since it was 85° and sunny on the peninsula. When I got to my (outdoor) concert, it was foggy and 60. I’ll learn.

I saw War of the Worlds last night. In a word, don’t. Tonight I’m trying again with Howl’s Moving Castle.

I put up some pictures from my hike this past weekend in the North Cascades – check ’em out here (part of the roadtrip section). Pretty amazing place.

I made it down to Palo Alto this afternoon after two nights in Portland and a quick stop in Brownsville, CA. I had my first tangle with the atlas program I use for mapping – it sent me down a “road” in Brownsville that is only qualified for travel by car by its lack of trees and nothing else (it’s completely unpaved and rocky as all getout). I did make it, though.

I had a great time this past weekend playing at Potlatch – you can check out a few pictures here.

I also had a chance to put up the remaining roadtrip pictures from Boise – those are up on the roadtrip page. I sent a few choice pictures from the summer off to CostCo (which now offers online ordering of prints), and was pretty impressed by the large size images, especially at $3 for a 12″ x 18″ print. Time to get some frames (well, time to get an apartment, then frames).

I had a chance to go through some of the (many) pictures from South Dakota and Wyoming, and I posted a bunch on the roadtrip page.
