Almost every day, I travel about 12 miles each way to and from work. Neither do I particularly treasure time spent in transit, nor do I get excited about the environmental impact of my commute. But both are mitigated by making the trip with others (go vanpool!), and we’re lucky enough that the trip takes us through the Washington Park Arboretum. This was the scene one morning this week as we crossed Lake Washington heading for Redmond:
