I won a bet/dare the other night to eat a (relatively) big hunk of wasabi in under a minute for $15. I won. If I could do that for a living, it would translate (approximately) to two million dollars a year. If.
The BLX is over, but hopefully the website will continue to provide hours of entertaining misspellings and mix-ups (I almost used the word “hijinx”). All things considered, the weekend went quite well, and Corner Pocket, the band from Toronto, was awesome.
Thinking ahead (a novel concept), I’ve decided (with the help of friends) to go to grad. school in Mechanical Engineering. Wish me luck.
Well, it’s my last night in France. Back to the Etats-Unis tomorrow morning, bright and early.
If you’re ever in Avignon and looking for a place to stay, check out Hotel le Splendid. Aside from the awful name, the folks who run it are truly sweet, and the price is right (it’s not luxury by any means, but whaddayawant for $30 a night).
Off to Avignon tomorrow morning, so I guess that makes it my last night in Paris… it’s been just over two weeks, and been a blast! Highlights include:
- the Parisian Pimp Store, of course
- seeing scary rock’n’roll dancing instead of lindy hop
- the Rodin Museum – definitely one of the most amazing places in Paris
- Montmartre
- The Museum des Arts & Metiers (roughly translates to “The Museum of Arts & Crafts”, but it’s really an engineering/science musuem)
Back to Boston next Wednesday.
I found the Parisian Pimp Store!! It’s a lot like the one in Boston (Porto Classica) – shady sales-people, outrageous clothes for huge people, etc. For those of you lucky enough to be heading to Paris and want to check it out, here’s the scoop:
