The kobe beef at the FareStart dinner last week was super-tasty. It’s my plan to eat more organic meat, and eat less meat overall. I certainly can’t afford kobe beef all the time, but it seems worth it to get good stuff, especially when I have a choice.

I’ve been thinking a bit about upgrading my Palm handheld. My Palm Vx is now about 5 years old, and the battery is slowly giving out. Looks like there is a company that sells replacement batteries (with replacement instructions), but it’d be fun to have something colorful & wireless. Any recommendations?

In an attempt to recreate some cookies my brother made a few years ago, I scoured the web looking for orange polenta biscuits. The recipe he used was from a Jamie Oliver cookbook (this seems to be it), and the quantities are all by weight. I ended up fudging things a bit, but the cookies came out well, especially since I topped them with leftover candied kumquats.

In other foodie-related news, I’m looking forward to the FareStart dinner tonight, especially since I’ve never had kobe beef.

I’ve been busy lately, but had a little time to play with robot arm stuff. I’m stuck trying to get my PIC processor to talk to my USB-I2C interface board.

I’ve been busy lately. Managed to get out this weekend for a couple frisbee games during a sunny interval, made some tasty pizza, and worked some on the robot arm.

My parents are headed in to Seattle at the end of the week, and I’m looking forward to showing them the town, eating well, and maybe getting into the mountains.

I went out dancing last night for the first time in a while, and enjoyed it more than I have of late. Glad to hear Solomon’s trio again and dance with some new folks.

Lunch today was from the Baguette Box on Pine, and boy was it tasty. The lemongrass beef sandwich was my favorite (though the pork shoulder wasn’t bad), and the truffle oil fries came close to, but didn’t surpass, the duck fat fries from the summer.
