Well, after I found some instructions for taking apart the D70, I figured I’d give cleaning the CF card contacts a shot before sending it off for professional help. It’s been out-of-warranty for a couple years now, and I’m usually okay at this kind of thing (at the very least, not breaking it). So my camera is currently in many pieces on my desk, but it looks doable. I have to de-solder a metal housing from a circuit board to get at the CF card contacts, but that’ll be the worst of it.

In my remaining week before starting the new job, I’m hoping to finish the camera repair, send the robot arm PCB out for fabrication, and possibly finish up the site redesign. We’ll see how it goes.
