Dinner on New Year’s turned out quite well – the crab cakes were fantastic, and the lemon mousse turned out great. Sarah brought back homegrown, organic lemons from her parents’ farm in Maine, and they really made the dish. I ran the leftover mousse through my ice cream maker yesterday – no surprise that it was quite tasty.
Tuesday’s dinner was almost as good, though slightly less home-cooked. On an excellent recommendation from a (Taiwanese) native, I went with some friends to Jack’s Tapas, an oddly named Taiwanese restaurant in the U District. Especially good was the Chinese Sesame and Scallion Layered Bread, though really, everything was great.
