What's been on my mind lately? Read on...

We had our holiday/solstice/anniversary party at work last night, replete with many drinks and outrageously dressed engineers. A bunch of us decided to mark the occassion with a mustache of one form or another. Here’s mine, started only a week and a half ago but soon to be shaved:

Recently I went to see Joanna Newsom at the Showbox, but only after about two weeks of waffling. Each time I convinced myself I wasn’t going to like the show, I read another article about how amazing her new album is and what a great performer she is. You know what? They were all right. The concert was one of the best I’ve ever been to, and the album is nearly as good.

The season of holiday parties is upon us. Let the eggnog consumption begin!

A former crafter from Somerville moved out to California to seek his fortune and start a company. The result? Fluther. Ask a question, a real person will answer it (a la Wikipedia).

As some friends were leaving my place after dinner tonight around midnight, they called back up to let me know about the awesome light show in the courtyard in front of the building:

Backlit fountain

Pretty spectacular.

Thankfully, travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday was much smoother than my flights earlier last week, and I’m enjoying my time here so far. It’s great to see Matt and some old friends, and also check out a new city.

There’ll be a full-fledged Craft Day on Sunday – drop a line if you’ll be in the Seattle area and want an invite.
